Air Conditioner Supports:

The spacers included with the A/C Safe Support kit will not lift the support high enough for my windows, what should I do?
  • We try to include everything necessary to install our supports in the package. However, there are so many window manufacturers and designs that we occasionally miss one or two. Call 800-797-3709 or E-mail Nationwide Products LLC and include your name and address, the color of the spacers and how many you need and we will mail spacers to you at no charge. You will need to purchase screws that are long enough to hold the support. The type of screw will depend on the material you are drilling into (wood, brick, masonry, etc.)
  • Can I install the A/C Safe Support into my vinyl replacement window?
  • Yes. Some vinyl replacement windowsills are hollow. It is important that the installation screws pass through the hollow sill and into solid material (ex. wood, masonry, metal, etc.)
  • Do I need special fasteners to install the A/C Safe Support into masonry or steel?
  • A/C Safe Supports include all the hardware necessary for installation. The mounting screws are specially designed to be effective in masonry, cinder blocks, bricks, wood, steel, aluminum, etc. The screws are not self-tapping; it is necessary to drill pilot holes.
  • Must I drill into the windowsill in order to install the A/C Safe Support?
  • Yes. Three 5/32” holes are necessary to hold the support. White, plastic plugs are included in the hardware kit to fill the sill holes when the air conditioner and support are removed after the cooling season.
  • One part of your instructions says to use a 7/32” drill bit for the support screw holes and another part says 5/32”. Which is correct?
  • 5/32”. The 7/32” reference is a misprint and was changed in all instructions.
  • The instructions are missing from my support. Where can I get a copy?
  • You can download a copy from our web site:
  • Download Installation Guide
  • Or call our Customer Service Dept. at (800) 797-3709 and we will send/fax you a copy.

  • You can download a copy from our web site:
  • Download Installation Guide

  • Do the panels work with slider type windows?
  • Unfortunately not. These panels are for regular style windows, where the lower window slides up. Slider windows open by sliding the window to the side, so there is an uncovered opening above the air conditioner.

    Replacement Filters:

The AC-323 carbon filter has two different colored sides. Which side goes where?
  • Install the AC-323 carbon filter with the blue side towards the room interior.
  • Does it matter how I install the AC-337 CarboStat filter?
  • Yes. Install the filter with the fuzzy side towards the room interior.
  • Which side of the AC-337 CarboStat filter is the “fuzzy” side?
  • The “fuzzy” side is the whiter of the two sides.
  • The electrostatic filter AC-312 is too thick for my air conditioner. Can I still use it?
  • Yes. The electrostatic filter has three elements: Two layers of filtering material, sandwiching a thin layer of plastic, supporting mesh. The total thickness is 3/16”. If it is too thick for your air conditioner, peel one of the filter layers off and the remaining supporting mesh and filter will fit. Be sure to install the filter so that the filtering material faces the room interior.
  • I just installed the electrostatic filter AC-312 and my air conditioner fan has slowed down. Is this normal?
  • If you notice a decrease in effectiveness or air speed after installing any air conditioner filter, you should remove the filter and replace it with a filter that features less airflow restriction. The A/C Safe AC-302 Economy Filter is a good choice.
